The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Accountancy and Information Systems is an interfaculty programme of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy and the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology at the University of Malta. The B.Sc. (Hons) in Accountancy and Information Systems is an interdisciplinary program designed to equip students with a robust foundation in both accounting principles and information technology skills. This program covers a diverse range of study units, including programming in Python, which introduces students to coding and problem-solving techniques; software development methods, focusing on the lifecycle of software creation and management; specialised accounting, which delves into advanced accounting practices and principles; and auditing, providing an in-depth understanding of audit processes and standards. This unique combination of subjects prepares graduates to adeptly navigate and integrate the fields of accountancy and information systems, making them highly valuable in today’s technology-driven business environments.
